Phil Mossman joins our commercial team as senior commercial manager; he has some 17 years’ experience in the commercial domain primarily in defence, but also including roles in the oil and gas, and IT sectors.
Phil started his career on the BAE Systems’ graduate scheme which transitioned into a permanent role at RAF Marham supporting the Tornado depth maintenance contract. From there Phil’s career has taken him to the South West of the country where he has worked on many different aspects of defence contracting for multiple companies including Babcock, Boeing, BMT and Ascent Flight Training. Phil has had the opportunity to form a broad experience base with MoD, supplier and export customer facing roles across the air, land and maritime domains. He has worked on a wide range of projects, varying from small value (but very interesting) special forces tasks, through to multi-billion-pound complex Private Finance Initiatives, and most things in between!
Phil is looking to apply his experience and support the Commercial Function as it continues to provide valuable support to the growing business. He hopes his knowledge can assist the team to deliver optimum commercial solutions to the increasingly complex contracting routes that derive from the expansion of the company.
Phil lives in rural East Devon with his wife Alex, three-year-old daughter Elsie and a menagerie of four legged animals. When not mucking out stables or fixing paddock fences, he enjoys photography as means to relax. He used to be a keen cyclist but has struggled to find the time since his daughter was born, at least that is the excuse he is sticking with!
