10 Reasons Why Inzpire is a Brilliant Place to Work

If you haven’t yet had chance to read Chris’ blog, you can find it here; it will give you a great understanding of the people that make up our team.

Why is that important? Well, ask anyone at Inzpire what makes this a special place to work, and I’d be willing to bet that 95% of them would reply “the people I work with”. The other 5% would reply “Ster Howard’s Bakewell Tart”.

The team of “Inzpire People” is just one reason why, for the second year running, we have been rated as “extraordinary” for our levels of employee engagement by Best Companies, and have been listed as one of the Top 100 Small Companies to Work for in the UK by the Sunday Times.

So what else makes Inzpire a fantastic place to work? Here are 10 of the best reasons:

1) Inzpire’s ethos is about making a difference; it’s not all about growing big, or making
the most money – it’s about giving back.

2) Everyone at Inzpire has a voice; and those voices are all equally important. Our ethos is that the person that passes the ball to the scorer, or the person who originally started the attacking manoeuvre, is just as important as the person who scores the goal!

3) Inzpire empowers, respects and trusts every team member to work when, where, and how it best suits their personal needs. ALL of our staff can work from home, can work flexible hours, and we are currently trialling uncapped leave.

4) We embrace speed of reaction. We make decisions quickly and push decision making authority as far down the organisation as we possibly can. If you think it is best for Inzpire – then go ahead and do it!

5) In the Military, you never leave a man behind, and Inzpire will never leave you behind. In times of need, Inzpire acts as an extended family and does everything possible to help; no matter the severity of the situation.

6) Our team are all truly talented – it’s hard to find someone who isn’t at the top of their field of expertise! We employ the best from the UK’s Armed forces, as well as exceptional non-military specialists in Systems and Software Engineering, Finance, Law, Marketing, Sales and HR.

7) We believe in the power of shared ownership, and believe we work best when we are all in something together. Inzpire will soon be opening the next round of our Employee Share Scheme – which will be open to EVERY employee.

8) Inzpire are served by a great leadership team; leaders that are caring, charismatic and confident. And the best part? They are all accessible, at any time of the day – they define the meaning of “open door policy”.

9) While we’re talking about leadership, it would be remiss not to list our CEO, Hugh Griffiths, in this list. In fact, Hugh needs his own “sub-list”!

a. Hugh personally contacts all new employees before they even start employment with the company, and arranges face-to-face meetings as soon as he possibly can.
b. He believes in rewarding the WHOLE Company; and our families! I’m willing to bet there are very few CEOs who tell you to take your whole family out for a slap up meal at Christmas on the Company expenses.
c. He takes the time to personally thank everyone that works here. Hand-written Christmas cards for each employee, regular emails/phone calls, meals out to say thanks are just some examples.
d. He gets stuck in, and is truly ‘one of us’ – you’re likely to find Hugh making a cuppa for the entire office, running to the shops for emergency chocolate stashes and organising social gatherings.

10) Finally (and most importantly) we believe work should be fun, and we celebrate our success! Think all expenses paid Christmas parties, days out and overnight stops at Alton Towers, nights out in Lincoln, lunch-time Dominoes and spontaneous visits to our local for a pub lunch – all paid for by the Inzpire. When we’re not socialising, we do occasionally do some work; and our office is filled with lots of laughter. It has been likened to walking in to a Squadron Crew Room. No one takes themselves too seriously – you have to be able to banter with the best of them here!

As Chris said in his blog last week, we are always looking for Inzpire types to join our team. These are just some examples of why Inzpire is a great place to work – I haven’t even touched on the outstanding benefits packages, fully-funded training courses or the opportunities for international travel!

If you have read mine and Chris’ blogs and thought to yourself, “how do I get involved – I want to try this Bakewell Tart”, then please get in touch. We are always delighted to hear from those wanting to come and join us. You can contact me – the Marketing & Communications Manager – on becki.hall@inzpire.com, or send a CV through to careers@inzpire.com.
