Rich has joined us as a technical consultant, working in our Integrated Sensors and Systems Division.
Rich joined the RAF in 2003 after gaining a BA(Hons) in Business Management. On completion of officer training at RAF Cranwell he began his flying training on his path towards becoming an RAF Navigator. Rich graduated from the Tornado GR4 OCU in 2007 and his first tour was on 31 Sqn at RAF Marham. During this time he completed numerous tours of duty over Iraq and Afghanistan, including support to Op ELLAMY, a number of NATO exercises such as TLP and weapons detachments in the US.
In 2011 Rich was selected to instruct on the GR4 OCU, XV(R) Sqn and supported operations in Libya during this time. During this tour he completed numerous weapons detachments in the US and was also responsible for developing and running the GR4 EW Instructors course, in his role as GR4 Force EWI. Rich also flew as the Tornado Role Demo for the 2012 display season. Promoted in 2014, Rich moved to Air Capability and was the Tornado GR4 Requirements Manager. He transferred aircraft type in 2016 to support the Typhoon programme as an RM, working on numerous EW, weapons and training projects. During this tour Rich spent his spare time in postgraduate study and graduated with an MSc in 2017.
Rich completed a tour in the Combined Air Operations Centre in the Middle East over 2017/18 as the UK Ops Officer, responsible for UK participation on Op SHADER and wider Middle East operations. Rich then returned to the UK as the DSALT Capability Manager where he was responsible for maintaining and developing capability in the joint synthetic distributed training environment, including preparing the RAF for the transition to DOTC(A). He also operated as the ground attack SME in joint exercises.
In 2019 Rich joined Inzpire for the next chapter and looks forward to being part of the 3rd Age of the company. Rich lives in Lincolnshire with his wife Natalie, children Freya and Oscar and their dog Beau. Rich is a season ticket holder at Leicester Tigers with his family and in his spare time enjoys running, days out with the dog and plays in a local tennis league.
